Dokorder PT-4H.     Portable reel tape recorder. Made in Japan, presumably in 1964. Dimensions 195 x 100 x 55 mm with no protruding parts. Weight without battery 1.2 kg. Power 7,5 v, five AA batteries. In the recorder used coil diameter 3, 1/4 inch tape width 1/4 inch. Construction machinery is rather complex, the whole mechanics and body metal. In the kinematics uses two belts, also made of metal, a coiled spring. Belt speed is stabilized. Horizontally-mounted engine rotates rubberized flywheel axis of which is capstan. Both heads have a cylindrical shape, and the total clamping strip. Thrust has two fixed positions, which is very handy when filling up the tape. The coils are fixed on the reel table with latches that do not allow them to fly off at any position of the recorder. It can be put or put whatever you like. For the convenience of a folding metal stand is in the form of staples. Near the pinch roller is the pin on which the attachment is stored on the capstan, increasing its diameter. The nozzle is fixed to the capstans screw. Increasing the diameter capstans increases the speed of the tape. At the lowest speed (1, 7/8" per second) device can be used as a dictaphone. At high speed (3, 3/4" per second) recording quality is much better and can play music. In general, the tape makes a good impression. Unfortunately there is no fast forward at all, and rewind hand, is carried by the handle located on the side of the body. To rewind the need to nominate the handle from the body, and rotate clockwise. To switch modes, there are three key "STOP", "REC", and "PLAY", located in a row. In addition there are volume controls, and connectors for a microphone, headphones and external power supply. On the front side of the shell is a metal curtain covering the threaded hole into which is screwed the cable remote activation. Such cable previously used with cameras for remote activation. Batteries are inserted into a metal tape having a connector. When the cassette is inserted into the battery compartment, plug is combined with the connector in the body. Circuit collected six transistors 2SB73 (1 pc.), 2SB75 (2 pcs.), 2SB77 (2 pcs.), D65 (1 pc.).
The device was bought in working condition, but after replacing the dried electrolyte generally was as new. Included with the tape recorder were leather case and original microphone DM-0051.

Erase head (left in photo) is made in the form of a cylinder with integrated rectangular magnet. When the recording mode is turned head rotates about its axis and is supplied to the magnetic tape. In the picture below left enabled playback on the right - the recording mode, see the rectangular magnet
